HorseSense Equine-Assisted Learning Program
HorseSense is an experiential learning program that uses purposeful interaction with horses to foster self-awareness, emotional growth, and meaningful connections. Designed for participants of all ages and life stages, HorseSense offers engaging, hands-on activities that build life skills, encourage personal growth, and promote social and emotional well-being. Through a safe and supportive environment, participants learn, connect, and grow - guided by the quiet wisdom of our therapy horses.
HorseSense fosters self-awareness and life skills development through purposeful, hands-on interaction with horses. Participants benefit from improved communication, emotional regulation, decision-making, and social skills. Engagement with horses fosters confidence, trust, empathy, and problem-solving abilities while encouraging teamwork, responsibility, and resilience. The sensory-rich, non-judgmental environment provides meaningful opportunities for connection, self-reflection, and overall well-being, enhancing each participant’s quality of life.
Sessions are conducted by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors and/or PATH Intl. Equine Specialists in Mental Health and Learning. The program serves youth ages 8 and up, seniors seeking enrichment and engagement, participants from day programs, group homes, support groups, and residential care facilities, and individuals or families navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, or stress.
