Planned Giving and Charitable Bequests

Planned giving is one of the easiest ways to make a lasting legacy to support equine-assisted services to people with disabilities and hardship at Southern Reins. Your charitable bequest can be made through a will or living trust, donation of stocks and bonds, gifts of real estate, retirement asset donations, and life insurance designations. Including Southern Reins in your estate planning also has benefits that could include estate tax charitable deductions and reduced tax liability for your family.

Learn more below about how you can leave an enduring legacy to change lives . . . one ride at a time.

Wills and Living Trusts

Specify a dollar amount or percentage of your estate to support Southern Reins to give children and adults opportunities they never thought possible.

Stocks, Bonds and Real Estate

Donate appreciating securities; such as stocks and bonds, or gifts of real estate to support our mission outreach to help people with disabilities and hardship throughout our community.

Retirement Assets and
Life Insurance

Give part or all of your unused retirement assets from your IRA, 401(k) or pension. Or gift your life insurance policy to improve the quality of life for the people we serve.

How a Bequest Gift Works

With the help of your attorney, you can designate a charitable bequest to be made to support Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy as part of your estate planning. Your charitable bequest can be made in a number of ways:

  • As a percentage of your estate or a specific dollar amount designated by your will or living trust

  • As an asset, such as a gift of stocks, bonds or real estate

  • As a gift of life insurance and retirement assets

  • As a charitable IRA rollover

  • As a charitable gift annuity

Your charitable bequest will leave a lasting legacy that will give joy to people with disabilities and hardship through the power of horses at Southern Reins for decades to come.
