HorsePOWER Work-Based Learning Program

Southern Reins’ HorsePOWER Program is a work-based learning program for teens and adults with disabilities. We partner with universities, residential care facilities and day programs to provide a safe and educational environment for people to learn a variety of job skills to prepare them for employment.
HorsePOWER participants learn administrative and custodial skills that are valuable in a variety of workplaces, as well as equine care skills and barn duties that are needed for working at an equestrian facility. Program participants earn credit each time they come to the farm to be able to participate in a horsemanship lesson.
Supervision is required by the referring organization and participants must be 16 years of age or older.
