Work-Based Learning
HorsePOWER Work-Based Learning is a program for teens and adults with disabilities that provides a safe and educational environment for people to learn a variety of job skills to prepare for employment. We partner with universities, residential care facilities and day programs.
HorsePOWER participants learn administrative and custodial skills that are valuable in a variety of workplaces, as well as equine care skills and barn duties that are needed for working at an equestrian facility. Program participants earn credit each time they come to the farm to be able to participate in an Unbridled Horsemanship or adaptive riding lesson.
Visits must be supervised by the referring organization and participants must be 16 years of age or older. Groups may visit weekly or monthly. All participants are requred to complete a Participant Information Form for Unmounted Observation and/or Equine Interaction prior to the visit.
