Given the social distancing requirements to combat the spread of COVID-19, along with our commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of all of our guests, Southern Reins made the decision to transition our Jockeys & Juleps Derby Party to a virtual event; celebrating not one, but 2 races: The Kentucky Derby and The Preakness Stakes!

 

Inspired by the people we serve – who face much greater challenges – we chose to approach the obstacle head on, and explore it as an opportunity that we hoped would kindle amazing achievement. And it did.  It is with our deepest gratitude that we announce that this year's event raised an unbelievable $255,000 to sustain our mission outreach.

 

The Jockeys & Juleps Virtual Event featured our signature Bourbon Pull and an incredible Online Auction.  New this year  we offered a premier Wine Pull featuring imported French and Italian wines and champagnes, as well as Virtual Watch Party packages and Virtual Tickets.  Paired with the generosity of our amazing sponsors who stood behind us when we needed them most, we are truly humbled by the outpouring of support, generosity, and compassion of so many . . .

 

We are immensely grateful to all of our wonderful sponsors for your continued support. Our traditional Jockeys & Juleps Derby Party raises 60% of our operating income, and regardless of circumstance, we remain committed to provide the essential services our participants look forward to, and benefit greatly from, with each visit to the farm.
