Equine Services for Heroes

Equine Services for Heroes

Equine Services for Heroes supports active, reserve, and retired military personnel and first responders who have been physically or mentally injured in the line of duty. The program is offered at no cost to participants in honor of their service and sacrifice to our country.

Men and women diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, PTSD, amputation, physical injury or combat trauma often find positive change and tremendous benefit from their involvement with equine-assisted services. Using horses the program offers physical and emotional healing with a focus on building confidence, self-awareness, improved communication and trust, and decreased anxiety and stress.

Lessons are conducted by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors. The program serves active, reserve, and retired military personnel and first responders.

Equine Services for Heroes is offered in 1 1/2 hour group sessions weekly. The program offers two tracks: A 6-week unmounted session, and an 6-week unmounted and mounted combination session. Equine Services for Heroes sessions are offered throughout the year to support those who have given so much defending our freedom. Through donor support, the program is offered at no cost. Individuals are requred to complete a Participant Application Package with a physician's referral for mounted lessons to participate in Equine Services for Heroes.

The program is generously funded by AutoZone and MCA, as well as individual donors to fully subsidize the cost for every participant in our Equine Services for Heroes program.
